New English Art Club

FINAL SELECTION!!… I’m so proud that this tiny painting Kitchen Window at Mum and Dad’s II, on a piece of cardboard packaging from the inside of a photo frame has made the final cut for the prestigious 2022 New English Art Club Annual Exhibition! I can’t wait to go and see it at The Mall Galleries, London! 23 June - 2 July.


Oxfordshire Artweeks 2022

Come and see me and my latest work! Yvette Phillips, Eleanor Wong and I are holding our annual Artweeks exhibition from 14-15 & 17-22 May. Do come and join us for an exhibition of colourful paintings, drawings and embroidery art at our pop up gallery in The Clubhouse, Boham’s Road, Blewbury OX11 9HF. Open: 10am-5pm (Tue-Fri 10am-3pm).

Jackson’s Painting Prize - Longlist

I am so pleased that this painting Afton Dreaming on a Spotty Throw has been longlisted for the Jackson’s Painting Prize! The original is currently in the OAS members exhibition and has now been sold, but prints are still available.


OAS Members Exhibition

So pleased that my painting Afton Dreaming on a Spotty Throw will be on show at this years Oxford Art Society members exhibition. Last year the show as online so it’s wonderful to be exhibiting in a physical show as a member of the OAS. Do come and visit! 26th March - 10th April. Oxfordshire Artweeks 2021

Restrictions permitting Yvette Phillips, Eleanor Wong and I are planning our annual Artweeks exhibition from 15th - 23rd May! I’m so excited about the prospect of seeing people in person! Fingers crossed we can all come together and enjoy some art then. More details nearer the time. We will of course be putting all the necessary COVID procedures in place to make it as safe an event as possible. Put the dates in your diary!


Oxford Art Society - New Member!

I'm delighted to have been invited to join The Oxford Art Society! 130 years old this year, The Society has a long and rich history and has connections with Oxford luminaries such as Ruskin, Burne-Jones, Gilbert Spencer, the Nashes, the Carlines and John Piper. It is a real privilege to join this group of 200 artists.


New English Art Club

I’m so pleased that in between lockdowns and Tier restrictions this fabulous show was able to open in early December 2020. I didn’t get to visit it myself because I was asked to isolate. However, thanks to modern technology I did get to enjoy this brilliant virtual tour! Do check it out and see if you can spot my painting Tuesday at Bobby’s.


New English Art Club

COVID UPDATE: Because of the new lockdown coming into effect on 5th November the physical opening of this fabulous show has been postponed (hopefully only until December). However! The entire show can be viewed online right now! Including this painting Tuesday at Bobby’s. The Mall Galleries are still hanging the show, ready for when they are able to safely open, which means they are able to produce a full virtual tour (available next week) for you to enjoy from your sofa. Do check out the show online now.


BAth Society oF Artists

I’m delighted that this charcoal drawing has been accepted into the 2020 Bath Society of Artists Open Exhibition. Ordinarily this exhibition would take place at the Victoria Art Gallery, but this year it will be taking place on the Victoria Art Gallery website from 2 November - 3 January. Do check it out.


Oxford Art Society

I’m really pleased that two of my paintings have been included in the 2020 Oxford Art Society Open Exhibition. Because of COVID, this year it is taking place online 3-31 October. Do check it out.

Held at the Mall Galleries in London, with a history dating back over a hundred years, it is an opportunity to show work alongside some of the best artists painting today. The exhibition runs from 11-21 November 2020. I can’t wait!


2020 Art Show

Our annual exhibition showcasing new work from the past year, alongside drawings and prints, will now take place online as part of Oxfordshire Artweeks virtual festival 2-25 May. You can browse and buy my work here on my website and also visit the websites of my co-exhibitors Yvette Phillips and Eleanor Wong. As well as explore the work of the many artists taking part on the Artweeks website.

Held at the Mall Galleries in London, with a history dating back over a hundred years, it is an opportunity to show work alongside some of the best artists painting today. The final selection, and exhibition have been postponed due to the Coronavirus, but, all being well, it will take place at some point this year.

I’m really pleased that two of my paintings have been included in the 2019 Oxford Art Society Open Exhibition. 2-27 October, SJE, Iffley Road, Oxford OX4 1EH.


RWA

I'm overjoyed that these two pieces have been pre-selected for the prestigious Royal West of England Academy of Art 167th Annual Open Exhibition! It's a fantastic, dynamic exhibition of painting, drawing, printmaking, photography, sculpture, installation and mixed media from emerging and established artists. Just dropping the pieces off ahead of the final selection was a great experience! A selection panel assesses every entry, this year's selectors include Tim Marlow, art historian and Artistic Director of the RA; Adelaide Damoah, painter and performance artist; John Talbot, art collector and Mark Hudson, award-winning art writer and critic for The Telegraph. I'm keeping my fingers crossed to make the final cut - but it's wonderful just to get this far!

I run a regular Life Class and Painting Group in Blewbury, and termly workshops. You can find out more here. I also teach various weekly courses at Sunningwell School of Art, and elsewhere, and have taught life drawing to A Level students at Didcot Girls’ School, and observational drawing for children at The Coaching Barn.
